As Lead 3D Artist during my senior year at ASU, I co-designed and animated the university’s first-ever drone show, a 600-drone performance that lit up the night sky for over 50,000 spectators. Alongside a partner, I ideated the entire show concept, built around the premise of “electrifying” the ASU marching band as they performed Elton John classics.

I created 6 of the 8 figures that appeared in the sky, ensuring that each animation was both visually striking and technically feasible for drone flight patterns. Working within a one-month timeline, I collaborated across disciplines, from creative ideation to asset creation and production management, to bring the show to life under fast-paced conditions.

This project gave me hands-on insight into the unique design challenges of drone shows, highlighting the differences between crafting 3D assets for screens (film, games) and for drones in physical space. It pushed me to balance artistic vision with technical precision, ultimately delivering an immersive and innovative large-scale experience.
